    Fringe ficlet:

Note: I don't really use my journal for things other than snippets, and the occasional half hearted wip - of which this is, and of which I have far too many - I guess it's an expansion of the Liaison verse, not finished, not entirely worth reading.

    Fringe rec!
I've been stalking the hallways of the AO3 looking for Astrid, Walter fic post 4:21, and when that failed, I whined.  Loudly.  To Mona.  And it worked a treat.  People need to read this story pronto.

Grace, by monanotlisa, post 4:21, spoilers apply for the ep in question, none for the finale.
    http://monanotlisa.livejournal.com/1303887.html

It's everything I've been wanting post-episode and a brilliant take on what may happen, could happen, should happen in 4:22.  This is what fanfic is for.

Three times Lincoln met Peter Bishop - Teaser ficlet
Notes:  This is some weird alternate universe, where Peter grew up in the redverse instead of being kidnapped into the blue, but things are still screwed up in their world.  AKA, that fic I keep warning people I might eventually write, where it's the Observers who are responsible for the original breach into redverse, and not 'our' Walter.

    Fic musings
There's a story I'm getting rather desperate to write.  It's been in the back of my head for a couple of months now but every time I think about setting down to *do* something about it, I'm struck by two thoughts:  A:  a story told from September's point of view, spanning three different timelines( present day amber, season 2&3 blue/red, and for my own purposes ground-zero, or the timeline where Walternate saved his own son before the Observers interfered, and Peter grew up in red verse and met the cortexiphan dosed version of Olivia Dunham through other means) might be a little complicated to sell.

But oh, I'm getting itchy to write it.  Just because I want red versions of Lincoln Lee and Peter Bishop interacting.

And B: It's plotty, as in Walter didn't create the first hole - and every time they get close to fixing it - the timeline changes again.  Seriously, I'll need a co-writer, and time to write a novella, and a heck of a lot more patience than I have.

    Fic: Quantum Entanglement
    FANDOM: Fringe.
    TITLE: Quantum Entanglement
RATING - Technically gen - a heavy dose of Olivia/Peter, and all other major players present and accounted for.
NOTES: Uses the entirety of season four, a chunk of season three, and mixes the two together with a dose of outright fantasy.
Thanks to norgebelulah for beta duties

Fringe Teaser Fic - Quantum Entanglement
WIP STATUS - HERE'S HOPING I GET IT FINISHED BEFORE THE NEXT EPISODE
    FANDOM: FRINGE
    TITLE: QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT
PAIRING: OLIVIA/PETER  (*stares* - yeah, I honestly can't remember the last time I wrote those two alone together either).  Inspired by the trailer for 4:15 - normal warnings, no spoilers, AU - not interested in writing canon because other people do it better.

    Fic Rec: Fringe
I love reading smut/slash or any combination there of.  But every so often I get a hankering (a deep, deep, hankering) for well-written, character-driven, gen.  In which case, run to the AO3 and read  mrspollifax's newest offering.  Themes and Variations is an Ella fic, following her development from the age of four to the season 3 finale, The Day we Died.  Lush with detail and world-building, this is Ella's perspective on growing up in a world that's dying, on Olivia, her mother, relationships, on the risks of living.  Beautiful from start to end, and even more important in a fandom that concentrates on short stories, it has length as well.

In other news, I'm lazy, and for the most part, can't be bothered spamming people with cross-posting.  My completed stories are posted to AO3 rather than LJ nowadays, of which there's been another twelve or so since Janus.

Frogs, Drugs and a Discussion or Two, Muon, The Confidence Scam, Snapshots, Sliding into You, Suits, Wheelin' n Dealin', Now and Then - or How the Woolley Mammoth was Completely Wrong,  Human Remains, Han Solo and Other Adventures in Space and Time, The Little Black Dress, and Orphan have all been written since then, and can be found under my handle at AO3 if you're watching this journal for actual story content.

Two Fic Recs of the must read Variety
    FANDOM:Justified
    TITLE: Bad Day
    AUTHOR: Norgbelulah
CHARACTERS: Raylan Givens and Loretta McCready
    RATING: Gen

Justified is one of those pitch-perfect shows with a host of colourful characters, perfect dialogue, and a sense of humour so black it could originate from the dark side of the moon.  I love it, love the cast, the tidal relationships, and the characters, both large and small, who populate Harlan.  Norgbelulah writes Justified (and I feel like an idiot because I didn't know that until today), and she writes it with an ear perfectly attuned to the character voices.  If you're a fan of the show you should read this, because it deals with the odd relationship between US Marshall Givens and thirteen year old Loretta: a story about the nature of second chances and using what you have to get ahead.

    FANDOM: Fringe
    TITLE: Fast hands soft touch
    AUTHOR: Monanotlisa
    CHARACTERS: Peter Bishop/Lincoln Lee
    RATING: Explicit

Long story short, I wrote a fic, then stared at Mona with big eyes and pleaded for her to continue said story - which she did with sassy ease - and it's perfect, it led to a lot of undignified noises, of the high pitched variety, and people really ought to beg Mona for stories more often, because it leads to all kinds of happy goodness.  There are complexities running throughout her take, character insights, and all of it hand-in-hand with some very hot smut.

    Fic Recs

I was going to do one of those end of year fic-memes, the general gist being I’ve written thirty-two stories in Fringe since April 20th (two of which I’ll never claim aloud), and I’ve pretty much tried my hand at every single character bar Nina Sharp and Phillip Broyles, but the truth is, those thirty-two stories of mine don’t interest me.   Let’s chalk it up and say it’s been a learning experience...with a lot of learning to go.

What does interest me, are those stories written by people a heck of a lot more talented.  Fics that have kept me entertained, envious, and down-right on the edge of my seat.

Also, my illustrated copy of Life of Pi (by Yann Martel) arrived today, which, for the record, is one of the top ten books written, ever.  And it's illustrated!  And so very pretty!

    Fringe Fic: Janus
    TITLE: Janus
    AUTHOR: rainer76
    RATING: Gen.
CHARACTERS: AltLiv, Lincoln Lee, Olivia Dunham (blink and you miss it referrals to Peter). Character study mostly.
DISCLAIMERS: The characters from Fringe are not my property and belong to more creative people than me.
SPOILERS: For episode 4:02:  One Night in October.

NOTES: The interpretation of Janus as the god of beginnings and transitions is grounded on a third etymology by Cicero, Ovid, and Macrobius, which explains the name as Latin deriving from the verb ire (to go). It has been conjectured to be derived from the Indo-European root meaning: transitional movement
                                                                     – extract from Wikipedia.
Rites of Janus: traditionally occurred in the beginning of the New Year, and in October, the closing of the military season

    AUTHOR: rainer76
    RATING: NC-17
CHARACTERS: (blue-verse) Lincoln Lee, Peter Bishop, Olivia Dunham, Walter Bishop. This story has little over a month before it’s going to be Jossed and rendered useless, in acknowledgement of that fact, consider it an AU of an AU.
PAIRING: Lincoln Lee/Peter Bishop, post season 3.
SUMMARY: After Charlie's death, Olivia's given a new partner from Hartford, unfortunately for Lincoln, hie eyesight just went askew.
DISCLAIMERS: Fringe and associated characters are the property of Bad Robot and J.J Abrams, no originality here, just borrowing them.
    WORD COUNT: 10,615.
